Falmouth is a vibrant coastal town in Cornwall, which combines one of Britain's foremost harbours and commercial docks, a vibrant business and social scene, the fast growing University College Falmouth, and a wealth of beaches and attractions for visitors.

Don't tell everyone though, because life here is so good that everyone will want to try it!

As well as being a great place to visit, Falmouth is also a great place to do business.

Between the marine industry centered around the docks and the harbour, the healthy local marketing and design scene (based around University College Falmouth / UCF and its well know forebear Falmouth Arts School), and the services for the prominent local tourist industry, there is a great deal of opportunity for businesses in the area.

There is also a great deal of support for businesses in the area, with many programmes funded by the EU and SWRDA Convergence programme in full swing.  This £400m programme is designed to support businesses in raising the average income in Cornwall to the European average, and overcome the historical economic difficulties caused by the end of mining and clay pits - once the mainstays of the Cornish economy.

And if you are just visiting the town then there is also a great deal to do. Falmouth features:

  • A great variety of high quality hotels, B&Bs and other accommodation types.
  • A bustling shopping centre with boutique local businesses as well as the expected chains.
  • The National Maritime Museum.
  • A huge range of watersports and sailing events, fishing and diving.
  • Historic sites such as Pendennis and St Mawes Castles.
  • Beaches and cliff walks, lighthouses and piers.
  • A summer programme packed with interesting events.
  • Cafes pubs and restaurants, many with harbour or sea views.
  • Easy access to the whole of Cornwall, including the Eden Project, Gardens of Heligan, Lizard Peninsula, St Michaels Mount, and Lands End.
